I use windows XP, and everytime i open itunes, switch from music section to application or whatever, it always takes a while (like 7-10 seconds?).

Especially when I'm in my applications section. When I'm deleting apps or even selecting them to right click delete and send to recycling bin, it takes a while for it to respond. Clicking/selecting an app takes like 10 seconds.

Is this because I have too many apps? I only have like 50 or so.

    What's going on?

It is because of apple's poor job of porting iTunes to windows from OS X.

I have a 2.8Ghz Core 2 Quad. Takes a few minutes to open, and a few seconds to open Videos, Music, etc.

Same here, they did a terrible job porting iTunes to Windows, and I think they did it on purpose

Its possible your library file may be slowing things down. My iTunes library is enormous 35,000+ mp3's 1500+ videos, apps, podcasts etc. iTunes launches quickly but takes a long time to load my library file. I have a core 2 duo 2.16 ghz 2gb ram MBP.
