I've been having this issue for some time now, about a week or so.

iTunes 8.0.1, and iPod touch FW 2.1 jailbroken. I have made no major modifications. Should I restore my iPod and jailbreak again?

The sync's work, but the message is very annoying. Rebooting the iPod didn't work as another thread said it would, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes 8.0.1, with no resolve.

I've restored and during the sync (it's still going as normal after dismissing) the error pops up.

I restored from a backup as well (I needed to since I had used AptBackup). Should I have started fresh? I don't want to go through all of this again if it's not going to make any difference.

    The Solution from Applecare...

The Canadian Applecare representative to whom I spoke informed me that they have deduced that this is an iTunes problem. Apparently it isn't playing nice with some other audio programs when you get this message (at least when using an Intel Macbook ... I didn't ask about other users).

She informed me that the solution is to uninstall iTunes and a few other associated audio programs (if present on your computer). Here is the instruction link she sent to me:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1224?viewlocale=en_US

I should mention that I know this solution may pose a problem for those of you with hacked iPod Touches. Mine is new and unhacked, so it's no big deal for me. I just recall the fear of newer versions of iTunes I had last year when I owned a jailbroken & hacked 1st gen. iPhone!

    Hoping this helps.

The iPod XXX cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found.

    I had the same issue.

The iPod XXX cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found.

After trying several times and reading some posts. Found out at that time nothing was solving the issue. I looked at my IPod and noticed the song seemed to copy but not the photos....

So I deleted the "iPod Photo Cache" located on the computer

Then deleted the files that were there and had no issue before... (files were *.rar, *.pdf maybe a few others. As I said I had no issues with sync before my new update to version 10.2.2.12

Now it all syncs fine (minus the non-IPod type files)

Hope that helps others with this same issue.
