It does happen with me a lot too. I just kill the iTunes process & restart iTunes. It usually works the 2nd or 3rd time around. It started happening with 8.2 in my case as well.

Nope. It doesn't bother me too much. Was hoping 8.2.1 would fix it, but the problem still exists... I hope it's not because Genius is turned ON in my case. Will try putting it to OFF.

How do you kill the iTunes processes? Is it through task manager? When you try to close it does it say" the program is not responding end now or cancel?

    Ok, will do so.

Yes, that's how I kill the process.

Ok, apparently Apple has managed to screw something up big-time, but this is what works for me. Plug the iPod in and then don't...do...anything. For about four or five minutes. Walk away, make a sandwich, eat it, if you want. (The sandwich isn't critical, but helps with the wait.) After a while, your iPod should flash the Sync in Progress screen, and then life will continue as normal.

Also, turning off Genius might help, sometimes.

Oh, so the wait is inevitable eh? Hmmm, will try it out & see.... Thanks!

I waited for a while and turned off genius but walking away and letting it sit works for me.
