Is there any hope for iTunes for netbook resources?

The EeePC netbook I have has a 16 GB hard drive 1 GB RAM.

I did get Old Versions earlier iTunes, so I can use iFunBox. The iTunes version however is too old to allow me to use iTunes and my Touch 2G 3.0 and so my question.

    Is there any hope?

There are a lot of netbooks.

I've got my Acer Aspire One runnings iTunes. I have an external HD with 320 GB connected to it and everything runs fine.

Same. I'm on my EeePC 1008HA and iTunes runs as normal.

I have an EeePC 900 and I got iTunes 7.6 to have the file needed to run iFunbox.

That is what I had to do.

The big laptop will run iTunes 8.2 which is required to support my iPod Touch 2G 3.0

The big laptop battery takes too much from my vehicle battery. I do not like standing with jumper cables, hoping someone will jump start my car.

Bigger is not better, in this instance.

Is there any hope for a "slim and trim" iTunes for low resources netbooks?
