Itunes Error 1604 Fix --- Redsn0w

    Hi everyone
    This morning i was jailbreaking my ipod touch 2g and went to upload the custom firmware and it have me a 1604 unkown error. I searched far and wide and i couldnt find an answer. Well i managed to find the answer out myself

    In the Windows tutorial for jailbreaking it says to open the firmware files with winrar and take some files over to irecovery. the error is caused when you take the files from the 2.2.1 file. You must take it from the custom one which was created by xpwn and NOT the original. Hope this helped

    edit: wait so i upload my patched FW iBSS to dfu? then do the whole process?

    I got the same error when i tried to jailbrake with a rong dfu(the one with the icon not the white screen)
    even with a correct file i was getting 1604.

    this is already put in the tutorial in bold saying from the "Custom"

    yes it is in the tutorial but there was still a lot of people asking what it was and no answers so thats why i posted

    I think it is because you didnt get the iBSS221 from the CUSTOM firmware... Try extracting the patched one instead.

    I did. I extracted it from my patch firmware file.
    Let me try it again just to make sure.

    i got that damn 1604 error too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    (have not tried the solution yet)
