Today I plugged in my jailbroken ipod touch to my computer and itunes detects it... and i'm looking at it and the files seem just fine , then all of a sudden all the music in my ipod is gone!

Now is the only option to restore the ipod?
How do I check if the music is still in the ipod? I disconnected from the computer and turned off the ipod touch and it says there are no music files in it.... WTH!!!!!!

i am really upset because some songs on the ipod i got when i bought the ipod and I do not have copies of those songs. I really like those songs.

Is there any way to recover this ? I really don't want to restore. I've already updated itunes...
I've restarted my computer and shut off and turned on my ipod touch about 8 times.
    Please help.

    Check under
    Settings>General>About
You either have the full space of your iPod free or it is being taken up but the songs are not recognized
    Check and let me know

so it might be due to faulty wire? I checked Settings>General>About

    and it says I have 0 songs,videos, 3 photos
capacity 14.8GB and available is 5.6GB

it looks like i still have my song somewhere in the ipod but it's not getting recognized...

So your Music databse is corrupt....
    This can be because of
    - Unplugging during sync
    - Faulty wires
    - Bad USB Port
    - At first i thought illegal music but i havent proved it

As of right now you really cant do much but restore

    Then... if jailbroken
    let me know
