Use ibrickr. you can download it here. Unzipped the ibrickr.zip. Plug in your iPod touch to your computer, and open up ibrickr. It should detect your iPod touch in recovery mode but would will have the option boot/get out from recovery mode. The iPod screen will turn red and will out you back to the Springboard when it is succesful.
It always worked for me. I had same problem happened to me twice already and I just did the ibrickr solution.

You can also watch this video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=T81nJtcBZoQ
It's a video of what I said above, but I didn't make the vid.

    good luck.

You need to put in restore or DFU and restore for that error. Sorry

If you have the "cable/itunes" graphic on your ipod, open ziphone 2.6b and select advanced services and click normal mode to see if it can get you back out of the state you are in.

I opened ziphone 2.6 and chose Recovery Mode. It helped, thanxxxxxx a lot!!!

but now I see that jailbreaking is just not for my touch(( All I think is that apple could be more generous and put at least one or two games in the ipod when selling it. Not fair!

thank you very much again for helping))

Now that your ipod is back to normal, can you do a jailbreak now? If not, what errors is it showing?
