    This is the official thread for the error "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. Could not connect to the device." Anyone that is experiencing this error or has potential resolutions can post in this designated thread.

    iPhone 5 (White)
    Make sure the connections both to the usb port and the device are tight and all the way in. If no better result, try switching to another usb port first by unplugging your device then replugging it back in.

    Restart your computer.
    Make sure you have iTunes updated.
    Reinstall iTunes.
    Use another USB cable.
    If 3rd party cable, use Apple USB cable.
    Make sure your connected directly to the computer not a USB hub or extension.
    Clean USB port/connector, 30-pin port/connector, Lightning port/connector.
    Try another computer.
    Take device to Apple store if none of the steps work.
