So I set up my account like a year ago without a credit card, I think I googled a method to get around it, like trying to get a free app then setup an account then. Anyways, now that I got my iPhone settled and jailbroken I try to get facebook and other free apps I've even had before. It says that I need to do something to my account and either click cancel which cancels the download or the other that goes online to make me add a card. I don't want to do this especially since it'd be my Mom's card. So how can I make them stop harassing me and allow me to download my free stuff once again?
Also, I luckily had my apps on my PC from my iPod so I synced them for now..

I just setup my new iTunes account a week or so ago and it did ask for a CC but you can skip that part, I did. You will only need to provide that info if you decide to purchase apps or other content from iTunes.

Why can't you put on a debit or credit card?? If your responsible and only buy free stuff I don't see why not... even if you have to use your parents or something.

Agreed, get your own debit card? Here in the UK you can get them from when your 12 / 13 years old (HSBC & Natwest) - don't have to have any funds in the account for it to be added to iTunes if your just downloading FREE apps and if your mature enough, there shouldn't be any problems.

Why use one if it's not necessary?

Either that or a prepaid CC, those are the best ways if you absolutely need to use a card.

Absolutely! The CC thing only comes into play when you attempt to purchase paid content, and if you don't have a card on file then obviously you can't do it.

That's what I did, setup my account in iTunes on my comp

It's an unnecessary step if you have no intentions on buying paid content from iTunes.

I just don't want to have the card linked to my account because, 1. I have a friend that uses my account too, for free apps. But I don't want any accidental purchases. and 2. The history of account hacks, I just don't want to risk it. But I'll keep trying to get it to work and if nothing else just set up a new account.
