iTunes 8 detects and blocks pwnage exploit

    thats what the dev team says. but dont worry, they say they have patches to fix it.

    no news yet on a jb for 2.1 but i wouldnt expect it to be long. they say the pwnage exploit cant be fixed without fixing hardware.

    i'm pretty sure you can jailbreak 2.1, but just not on a 2g ipod touch
    you need a 1g ipod touch to jailbreak
    this is because apple patched an exploit in the hardware

    if they don't find a way to jailbreak 2nd gen ipod touch soon, I will buy another refurbed 1st gen.

    I doubt that. Why would they have patched the iPod Touch hardware but not the iPhone 3G? Seems if they knew how to patch they would have done that already on the iPhone.

    Theirs a new chip in the new ipod. I'm sure they will put it in the iphone eventually.
