Couldn't you have searched? Just a little bit?

The version of iTunes makes no difference with redsn0w. Just run the program.

Nothing will happen to your iPod if you use redsn0w.

actually, the team says that you should stay away from 8.2 if you need to use USB to SSH

When you use USB to "SSH", that's not SSH, because SSH stands for something else (90% chance that it has the word "server" in it).

The main USB SSH programs that I use were all updated shortly after release of 8.2
There's nothing wrong with 8.2, unless you have a 1G or iPhone.

I used the redsn0w 0.3 jailbreak with iTunes 8.2 installed and it worked just fine... You must be doing something wrong or you are trying QuickPWN.
