I have a fairly new computer with XP, and I downloaded and installed iTunes 7.7 straight from the apple site, and it keeps freezing, even after I restarted my comp.
Does anyone else have this problem?

    My computer specs
    - XP Service Pack 2
    - 2.8 GHz
    - 2 GB RAM
    - 34 GBs free (200GB hard drive)

    Minumum requirements
    - 32-bit editions of Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Vista
    - 64-bit editions of Windows Vista
    - 500 MHz Pentium class processor or better
    - 256MB RAM

It seems to freeze everytime I plug an iPod into it. With no ipods, it runs fine, but if I plug my ipod touch and/or 5.5g, it freezes up.

this is the only thing that bugs me about itunes...

my ipot makes itunes like lock up.
if you unplug the ipod though, it goes oh, you want to use itunes? ok! and unfreezes.

just leave it in for a while and it works... so gayyy..

only happens when im on 2.0 though

It appears to be an issue of how big your Music Library is. This is what I've found.

iTunes Music Library Empty and iPod Library Full: iPod connects instantly.
iTunes Music Library Full and iPod Library Empty: iPod connects instantly.
iTunes Music Library Full and iPod Library Full: iPod hangs for several minutes.

My "full" music library is 7,000 songs on my computer and my iPod "full" music library is 3,000 songs.

I am experiencing the same problem with my Vista Laptop. Upgraded to v7.7. When I plug in my Touch, iTunes freezes up

OK, I updated to v2.0 on the MAC which of course wipes out the music and video library on the touch. Then I went to the Vista Laptop and the Touch is recognized immediately by iTunes.
