    RavePod [iTouchBand Revival]

    NEW NAME: RavePod

    Please read all of the requests before you request something. It helps keep this more organized.

    I liked the idea. So I'm gonna revive it.

    Alright, I've started tinkering around with Python for the iPhone/iPod touch, and from the looks of its capabilities, iTouchBand (name change, anyone?) would be more apt to succeed using Python.

    What I'm looking for in replies here:
    * Name suggestions
    * Feature suggestions
    * Icon suggestions
    * Theme suggestions (should there be one? multiple, via installer? dark/light? colors?)
    * Instrument suggestions (synths? drumkits? effects?)
    * Menu items (filetypes? export to mp3? wav? ogg?)
    * Other stuff you'd like to contribute

    What I'm NOT looking for here:
    * Flame for not backing up the old project
    * Flame for can canceling the old project
    * Questions about release dates
    * Programming language suggestions
    * Double requests
    * "u shud ttly liek pt a vinal scrachur!!!11oneoneonetwo"

    Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

    Release dates are not going to be announced.

    ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION (edited a little to fit the new design)
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

    iTouchBand
    Stripped Down, User Friendly Version of FL Studio / GarageBand
    On your iPod Touch or iPhone
    Alright, so it's final. I've started writing the application, using Python

    It will utilize the iPoT's ability to flip onto it's side, which will display a whole different view.

    Samples might have one of the follow characteristics:
    1. Samples NOT included, with an iSamples downloader, which will place the files into your /Media directory on your iPoT
    2. Samples NOT included, no downloader, except on my website, which you will have to manually import into your iTunes library and sync. The application will call up the artist "iTouchBand" for its samples
    3. Samples NOT included, downloader (iSamples), AND the ability to have your artist (iTouchBand) called up by iTouchBand.
    4. Samples included, downloader (iSamples), but the app would be HUGE inside of Installer.app (upwards of 200mb)

    Garageband imitator similar to beatphone. Last time I checked, this thing went almost nowhere.

    Actually, it has nothing to do with beatphone at all.

    Think of FL Studio/LMMS/GarageBand/Cubase. Throw them into a small and cut down package.

    There ya go.

    I'll add the description from the old one here.

    I saw the old thread and I believed pythonusr. When it was called fake I was surprised. I sort of believed it but I still wasn't sure. Now I am trusting pythonusr with this future app. Here are my ideas for the app. For the name I think either itouchband, iBand, iGarage, or iMixer. I think there should be loops like GarageBand. The loops should be stored in var/root/Media/Loops. Here is a list of Instruments that should be included. Violin, Piano, Cello, Trumpet, Organ, Guitar, Harp, different Drums, Flute, Oboe, Tuba, French Horn, Clarinet, Saxophone, Bagpipe, and Cornet. Another feature should be editing songs already on your iPod Touch. I hope this app turn out great.

    Well, iGarage would be a little overboard. iMixer, it's not really a "Mixer", per say. iBand has been suggested many times in the old thread.

    I like your suggestion for editing songs on the iPod touch. I'll take that into consideration!
