After successfully jailbreaking my iTouch I was experimenting adding a whole bunch of apps to the springboard. Got 1 and 3/4 pages of apps now. My battery was getting a little low, so I plugged my USB cable back in, started iTunes backup and lo and behold, it says that it can't read my iTouch anymore and I have to do a Restore on it. I don't want to restore it because I'm afraid I will lose everything I've done to this unit so far.

Any bright ideas on this one?

maybe try plugging it in a few times, if all else fails reinstall itunes. At this point theres no reason to restore. Is your ipod working ok?

iPod works great! It's just that how do you sync future media without iTunes syncing?

I mean, if I can't sync wiith iTunes (without Restoring to factory defaults), then how do I add future songs, pictures, videos, etc. to the iTouch?

in all likelihood, if you're ipod works fine, theres no reason you cant connect to itunes. So theres probably a problem, I'd go out on a limb and say its itunes. Again, try reconnecting it a few times/reinstall itunes.

nvm, I tried closing iTunes and restarting it , and it recognized my iTouch on the second try.

    All is good,

    Merry Xmas
