Did you try just restoring or putting it into DFU again? I believe I had a problem like that with my old 3GS and I just had to retry the restore

is WiFi Sync installed on your computer? if so, uninstall it.

If that doesnt work, download RecBoot and click enter recovery. then the restore should finish, your iPod shoujld restart and it MIGHT go into Recovery mode. if it does, just use RecBoot and click Exit recovery.

Let the battery die. I've heard (but never had to deal with it personally) that when your device goes into bootloop that letting it die helps you restore when you connect to itunes. It could take days however. Or might take one night. Hard to say.

What does Wi-fi Sync have to do with it?
RecBoot not working. something about .NET Framework

Wow this is very strange. Have you tried letting the battery die? When ever my iTouch freezes up or something bad happens to it I let it die then charge it back up and that fixes it.
