I don't know what caused this, I took pretty good care of my things.

    The problem is:

    1. It keeps restarting once it's plugged into the computer.
    2. The battery is dead so it has to be hooked into a usb card.
    3. The computer refuses to recognize the device.

I really don't want to send it off to apple and have them replace parts for 2 weeks. Itouches are pretty popular I am surprised there isn't any utilities that can easy flash the memory.

Anyways, if anybody has any ideas I would appreciate it if you post them.

    Thanks.

    Let it charge I guess?
Just keep it plugged in for a few hours and then try holding home and power until it resets.

First off, if you don't wanna get trampled here, don't call it an iTouch.
First, try to restore it. Then if that doesn't work:
    Send it to Apple!
I know you said you didn't want to, but that is the only other way.
You just got keved. I'm really into white writing today.

It is charging now. The battery always shows 100% even when it's about to die. And still isn't recognized by any computers.

I came up with a very simple theory that (I think) explains what caused this phenomenon:

After I went to bed at about 12, someone climbed through my window. I suspect a Caucasian ( 1/3 irish and 2/3 american ). He noticed that the maid was coming down stairs to investigate suspicious noise. He acted quickly and killed her using a pillow he took from my bed. He had to dispose the body and therefore called his African American friend for assistance. Then they moved her body through the window in order to trick me into believing that she has left for the night.. After they wrapped her body in plastic and tightly packed her into the trunk of the car, the 1st man found my ipod and replaced it with his sh*tty ipod that doesn't work.

I don't understand how my race is relevant. Unless you suspect I am neither Caucasian nor African American in which case I might be stereotyping certain cultures, and by certain cultures I mean your own. With that said, I have determined that your age is <17. Congratulations.

You don't understand, the computer won't recognize the ipod device. It's most likely a hardware issue.
