If you put it in DFU, it will. Download iLiberty+ (Better than ZiPhone anyway), and go to the "Other Tools" tab, and select "Enter DFU Mode". Then restore it in iTunes (It will be recognized), and then jailbreak, and only select BSD Subsystem and installer. No activation, no unlocking, etc. Just Installer and BSD Subsystem.

Or if you're set on using ZiPhone, Just select the jailbreak option.

    1) Hold the Sleep button and the Home button untill it turns off.

    2) Now let go of the Sleep button but keep holding the home button untill you see the USB with iTunes and plug in your iPod to your computer.

    3) Restore your iPod and this time use the "Jailbreak" option in ZiPhone.

what till the battery completely runs out. then charge it. after about 5 to 10 minutes it will turn on and you will see the apple logo. once you see the apple logo, then hold down the sleep and home button for 7 seconds, then let go of the sleep button but still hold down the home button. that should put it into recovery mode. then while its plugged into your computer open up itunes. in itunes it will say your ipod has been detected in recovery mode, then just restore.
