So I got my new touch today (my birthday) and upgraded to 2.0.2. I downloaded Winpwn 2.5, did a little research, and used quickpwn on my touch. Quickpwn failed me. However, the touch is now stuck in DUF mode, won't restore in iTunes (error 1601), and I'm completely lost.

    Any suggestions?
I'm a big noob, but I can follow instructions.

It doesn't want to restore at least not with iTunes. Is there any other way I can do it?

Delete anything in %APPDATA%/Apple Computer/iTunes/Device Support/ and restore to a clean firmware.

However, now iTunes doesnt recognise the iPod. It gives me this message "itunes could not connect to iphone because an invalid response was received from the device"

Restore to 2.0.2 again this happened to me and you should be fine don't restore your backup either as this may transfer files over that are causing it i manually back up all my stuff.
