Reguarding bluetooth on the iTouch 3g's, i had sort of an idea (maybe its possible, what do i know)

I know with the 3g's you can use bluetooth headphones or headsets that have the A2DP profile. Headsets like the iphone uses use the HFP profile. I know its hard to program a new profile from scratch, but wouldnt they be able to somehow copy the profile info from the iphones to the itouch so we can use bluetooth headsets to use things like voice notes?

Like i said, just an idea, not sure if theres any grounds to it.

Yeah, so do I. I think there was a thread on this a few months ago... there are a few bluetooth headsets that for some reason just work.

When I got my headset I specifically looked for an A2DP one and it does work for music, that's not the issue. I want to use the mic for voice control, etc using the HFP profile from the iPhone. Anyone think it could be done?

Is it legal to modify .ipsw files? If it is, I could put the iPhone restores on an iPod touch.

I think it's legal to modify but not distribute... Putting iphone restore on an ipod bricks the ipod.*

    Learned from experience on 2.0

    1. Don't bump threads.

    2. Obviously redistributing Apple code is illegal.

    3. iDevices cannot become 'bricked'

So this bluetooth mic thing is a software issue, correct?
