Hello people, i joined this site because i had a great idea - using the itouch as a wifi remote control. i don't know bout everyone else but i have a wifi enabled mac mini that i use as a media centre. it is connected via hdmi to my hd television. wouldnt it b great if u could use the itouch as a remote control, to control your music/video/tv. a revolutionary remote with a big colour screen and multi touch.
i am not a developer, but i have some very limited experience with cocoa and java so i know that this is probably a challenging project. it would b great to get together with a programmer to discuss how feasable this is.
    thanks,
    torsten

dont no how they made it work, maybe radio waves?? n95 has fm radio.
But this has been done on the nokia n95 (yes the n95 has an accelerometer)

the n95 has a fm radio reciever, not a fm transmitter so you could not use it to control an r/c car. n95 is a horible clunky fat phone, i wouldn't b seen dead with one. its sooo expensive too. r/c boats and cars generally use 27 mhz, but planes and helicopters use 45mhz. it would be possible to control an r/c car with wifi but you would have to create a special logic board to interface between airport and the servos. the range would be quite limited too.

I think it would cost far too much to have a TV remote control available on the touch. Maybe we should just get a remote from walgreens?
