    hello to all,

I have jailbroken my ipod touch on 3.1.1 a number of times in the past. However, this time it isn't working

When i went to turn on the ipof, it went to the usb cable-->itunes screen. I waited until itunes booted up and told me i had to restore. I then ran blackra1n which is in (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support). In the past i'd simply run blackra1n, geohot's face would pop up and the ipod would restart to the lock screen. However, this time instead of rebooting to the lock screen the ipod simply turns off. The "your jailbreak is done dialog box still pops up though." I run the program as administrator every time and have tried running it in compatibility mode winXP SP3 a number of times as well. Any ideas as to what i can do?

Put into dfu mode and restore. It will upgrade you to 3.1.3 automatically then you use Spirit.

4.0 isn't even officially out yet. If you read the message when you click restore, it says it restores your iPod and upgrades you to the latest firmware.

Why would it take you to 3.1.1 when that's not even the latest firmware?

It will take you to the latest free update, which is 3.1.3
Then put all your stuff on it or wait.
Then use spirit jailbreak to jailbreak it.
