I am travelling in Korea and China (in 2 weeks)with my ITouch 3.0 and need to know how to ensure connectivity to WIFI services. I would like to use it for directions, translation, sites, hotels, skype etc,

    1. Do I need a specific chipset?
    2. Do I need to download Korean and Chinese fonts?
    3. Do I need any apps downloaded?
    4. Is there public access to Wifi?

PS: I have a microphone and have successfully tested using this with skype in Canada and would like to do the same overseas.

    1. As far as I know it should all just work.
    2. No
    3. No, just whatever ones you need.
    4. That really depends on where you are. I'm not sure about China, they seem to like depriving people of liberal internet use, WiFIi could be the same.

Thanks for the advice. You've saved me a trip to the Apple store.

I'll be in Beijing for a week and throughout Korea (north and south) for two. Leaving the laptop at home and just bringing the itouch.
