    http://www.bluetooth.com/Bluetooth/Press/News/iPod_chip_maker_plans_WiFi_IBluetoothI_support.htm

    it clearly states
iPod chip maker plans Wi-Fi, Bluetooth support
    08-Feb-2006 Reg Hardware
PortalPlayer, a key chip manufacturer for Apple's iPod, will add support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless technology to its new chips, thanks to an agreement with Bluetooth chip supplier Cambridge Silicon Radio. The new chips would add functionality such as support for wireless headphones, as well as wireless music downloading.
so could the wifi chip have support for bluetooth and wifi
we all know portal player has been in the ipod since first release

Bingo. I don't think Apple wanted to tell the world it was developing the iPhone back in February of '06. Therefore, they just classified things as an iPod.

I am still convinced there is no Bluetooth in the iPod.
