Is the Iskin Vibes for the 2G touch a hard shell case or is it a silicone case.

It is a soft silicon case. The case looks good itself, but I would suggest either the RebelTouch or the NeoTouch from SwitchEasy for more protection.

You can read more about the Touch Vibes here.

Thanks, any cases you recommend that are a hard shell case. And how come switcheasy gives you a 3.5mm adapter? Will i need to use it in order to plug in my headphones

You don't need it, unless you have huge-ass plugs on your earphones... in which case the adapter's a good idea. Beyond that, as far as hardshell cases go, the Griffin Wave's not a bad choice, nor are some of the Contour cases (like the Fusion) for the 2G.

For hardshell go with the incase slider or the Griffin Wave.
I ordered myself a griffin wave , because the incase was realy too expensive for me 40€ for one !
