Well i have done searching on the forum, and... i hear bad things about ZiPhone. I messed up one ipod trying to JB, can't do it again. Would it be safer in the long run to just downgrade to 1.1.1 and "jailbreakme"?

for me, ziphone is safe and very reliable. ive done the jailbreaking of 1.1.4 using ziphone with 3 ipod touches. all of them works perfectly fine. all you have to do is:
-make sure your ipod is a clean and unnamed 1.1.4 before jailbreaking
-after jailbreaking, go to itunes and choose "restore from backup of"

i used ziphone several times and never got an error or sth like that

Before i everytime downgrade to 1.1.1 and used appsnap and upraded afterwards.
its anoying and costs much time. And sometimes sth wents wrong and you have to do downgrade etc again

And ziphone is done after 45 sec and not after about 2 hours as usual when jailbraking

i would also like to know what gig you've got. I heard it works bestest with 8gig (thank god). A guy on youtube kinda persuaded me to no use it. He said when he types it freezes all the time. mine already does that. like it needs time to catch up and it is sooooooooo sloooooooow. He said he constantly had to restore or recover. Mine already has that problem while in safari but i dont want it to get worse. He also said it was the worse jailbreak he ever used. So I am kinda nervous. And after I restore and jailbreak can i just sink my ipod to my itunes library and i'll have my photos, music, videos, and 20 dollar app pack back? With no problem?

To fix the keyboard problem, as soon as your iPod turns on, go into contacts and add a new contact and type random crap for a few seconds, press cancel, not home button, then you can leave.

Ziphone is better (but not the best)

8gig Touch on 1.1.3 and ZiPhone worked for me no problems.

I didn't even bother doing a fresh restore. I just jailbroke it with all my music, calendar stuff, videos etc. intact. I didn't lose anything, and it's been very stable from the outset. EDIT: Oh I must point out that my Touch was on 1.1.3 with January update as standard /EDIT

I HAVEN'T upgraded to 1.1.4 yet, because I can't see the point. I was waiting for the SDK release to see what was going to happen. I'm very happy with my iPod the way it is now, and as there are NO benifits to upgrading to 1.1.4 I'll stay as I am
