Is it possible to download applications (no web apps) without jailbreaking?

EDIT: I won't jailbreak because I don't want to downgrade and lose my appack

You wont loose your app pack. It is saved on your computer and you can get it back anytime. Plus you can get it for free.

I didn't buy it, it came on the iPod. Does that still mean my computer has it?

if you jailbreak your ipot you will retain all exisiting apps and will have access to hunderds more. There is no issue in losing anything with jailbreaking as you can always reset your ipot back to its original unjailbroken factory condition using the restor function in itunes.

Ok it WILL be possible to install applications on your iPod once the SDK is released later this month by APPLE. As of right now youre forced to jailbreak your iPod in order to install FREE third party applications. However if you do jailbreak your iPod and change your mind you can always restore and iTunes will automatically restore your iPhone applications by verifying your serial number.
