Well, I jailbroke my iPod 2nd Gen via spirit about 2 months ago, and it lasted about a month before it got ALWOD (Apple Logo/LoadingWheel of Death)

I then restored from backup and its now a normal iPod. I decided to wait for iOS4 this time because i figured that background home screen and multitasking would be available.. Which is a main reason I jailbroke in the first place.

However, due to Apples annoyingness... Apple say that iPod 2ndGen is 'incapable' of Background Home Imaging and Multitasking, although we know that it certainly ISN'T.

Anyway, this means that if i want these I need to jailbreak again... (but seen as iOS4 comes out in 11 days I'll get that and jailbreak iOS4)

Is it a bad idea to jailbreak my iPod again? Perhaps this time using PwnageTool?

I would appreciate different views, opinions and perhaps some pros/cons.

I'd just wait the few days if you don't want hassles of possible restores etc.

Yeah.. but then do you think I should jailbreak iOS4?

I would like multitasking and homescreenbackground. I mean... i can live without homescreenbackground, i guess... But i really want multitask.

Although, apparently... once iPod 2ndGen is jailbroken at 4.0... multitasking is native?

    Well, this video says so...

Yes, ive heard of 'editing the .plist'
But is a jailbreak required? And once the iOS4 is released will guides on the internet tell me how to edit the .plist?

I dont particularly want to jailbreak again because last time it killed my iPod... and My iPod is rather slow in jailbreak

I'm really annoyed at Apple for not giving us multitask when they secretly know we are capable.

The next version of Redsn0w will be able to automatically enable Multitasking and Wallpapers right 'out of the box'.

I'm going to Jailbreak for that and that only.

I'll think i'll do the same as you, Shawa. Besides, we have the same gen iPod Touch... and I would love those features.

I take it redsn0w is a cydia app?
