    i plan to jailbreak my ipod touch with redsn0w for iOS 4, but ive heard if i get a MC model i have to connect to a computer all the time to boot up. is there any way i can make sure (or make it more likely) ill get an MB model ipod touch 8gb?

    also, will redsn0w jailbreak a 3rd gen 8gb like a 2nd gen? since its exactly the same as the 2nd gens i assume it will i just want to make sure.

    one more thing, will this and this work as custom boot and recovery logos? im new to this.

    Wait, Wait, Wait - MB or MC is on your Device. It indicates the Bootrom!
    Go into Settings->General->Information
    If the number down there starts with MB or PB its an MB Model
    If the number starts with MC or PC it's a MC model

    I cant help you with the Bootlogos, you should just try out.

    P.S. Redsn0w only works on iPod Touch 2G MB and iPhone 3G MB and iPhone 3GS (old Bootrom)

    I don't think there is without opening up the box first. The only way to ensure that you get the model you want is buying it off of eBay.

    If you order a 16/32 GB 2G it is MB for sure.
    If you order a 8GB it can be MC or MB
