I dont have my own Wi-Fi So SSH is out of the question. I have tried using mobile finder and it dosent seem to do anything when i modify folders through it. i cant find squid on either cydia or installer so i havent tried that.... I downloaded I phone PC suite and that program just crashes on start up...

    Any ideas?

Thanks that works!!!! now theres another small problem... it seems that with any app that i upload to the ipod without getting it from cydia or installer they dont work. They just start up and crash going right back to the springboard. Anyone know the reason for this? if i get any app from cydia or installer they work fine, but if i upload it through usb they dont work...

    1) I can only assume that by this you mean cracked apps, but even if they are not cracked you need to set the app folder to 777 and every file and subfolder with the apps folder to 777

    2) Then in "/Applications", make a folder called "Documents" and set the permissions to 777, go to "/private/var/mobile" and make a folder called "Documents" with permissions 777

    4) if it is cracked apps you will need to patch your mobileinstallation and set the permission to "775", but i will not tell you where it goes or how to get it.

    5) Reboot your ipod

    6) Enjoy

You can install mobileTerminal through Cydia and then execute the commands:
    1.chmod 777 <your-file> (For files)
    2.chmod -R 777 <your-folder> (For folders)
    Hope it helps!

Do what everybody else is saying, and if none of this works, copy the folder to your computer, and set the permissions on that, and replace it on your iPod.
