My friend has a 2G iPod touch and her computer has crashed. All of her music is on the ipod and she has no way of getting it back off the computer. Is there a way to get it off the iPod?

You can try downloading a program on her computer called DiskAid. It will allow you to do that.

Diskaid has an option where you can copy it back to your iTunes library. Kinds cool. I did not try touchcopy yet.

Computer crashed? The music is still there unless something corrupted the files or you guys have since formatted it. Just because the OS crashed, or the spyware you haven't been keeping tabs on has ruined your system files, doesn't mean that you can't just pop the drive in as a secondary disk and read the files. If there's sufficient free space on the drive, you could even resolve this issue using just that drive.

I used diskaid to get my stuff off my 2G and it worked perfectly fine. The files are all renamed according to iTunes, but the tags remain the same. My computer didn't crash, my hard drive is no longer synched. It clicks. Unless your drive is clicking, you can probably get everything back off it, you just have to know how. Even my drive is still recoverable, it just requires special equipment.

It is my friend lol. She got her 2G iPod after me and her boyfriend both got a 1G. She had a creative zen but we converted her.
