    you mean other than being able to dual-boot linux alongside the apple OS and being able to enter a new phase of great software and application development for the ipod touch? No.

    I wonder how long its going to take for it to have as good Multi-Touch capabilities as the iPhone OS. Remember, its not only the Screen of the iPhone/iPod Touch that makes it so smooth and responsive. Its also the Software.

    couldnt they just rip off the iphone os software? and then mod from there? it seems easier than it is

    Mac/iPhone OS API/Frameworks are not the same as Linux API/frameworks.
