Is there an app to KILL running background apps?

    I know by Holding the home button for 5 seconds kills any applications running in the background, but I would like an app for that because sometimes I don't 100% know if it actually works due to holding it for too long or not long enough.

    Yes, my Ipod touch 1G is jailbroken to firmware 3.0 so yes you can give me a source on the app to download in Cydia IF there is an app like how I described above.

    If you were running 2.2.1 you could install the processes toggle for sbsettings, however it doesnt currently run on 3.0 so your out of luck on that part.

    use backgrounder, with the beta mode activated. then when you hold the home button, a list of apps that are in use comes up, and you can delete them from the list to stop their processes.

    1) SBSettings processes toggle.
    2) Backgrounder running in "Task List Mode."
    3) MemTool.
