    Like line in
instead of using the iphone's built in mic.
I want to run a line out of my Keyboard (piano) into my iphone and record that way.
instead moving a bunch of stuff around and hooking it into my laptop.
if there isnt one there should be

what if i got a cable that had 3 connectors (like a mic.) on it instead of two (like headphones)? Would that work?

Just wait till the 3.0 update. Where you can make use of the Dock Connector.

    I had a similar idea .
I'd like a sound recorder that records internal iPod/iPhone sounds...

example : Record Pianist.app then Digidrummer.app, mix it ... etc...

if there is anything, I don't think that the quality would be very good

That would depend on the quality of hardware, and the recording app's ability to add buffers and such.

Personally, I'd love a portable DAW, but in reality it's just as easy to grab my notebook and take it with me for much better functionality. Despite the Touch being robust for it's size, running a DAW isn't exactly child's play.

A simple recording program is very possible, but that's about the limit. You might get some apps that could be decent for recording ideas or rough (ROUGH) demos, but getting something with the functionality of a full on DAW isn't likely.
