I know that people could do it on a jailbroken 1G, but can you do it on a non-jailbroken 2g now?

I actually got it to work! I'm pretty pumped. The only problem now is I don't get a notification when one comes.... that must be impossible? or no?
thru email it is easy..
type in the person cellphone number areacode+numbers @ provider.com
so mine whould be firstname.lastname@example.org
whhat about all the americcan carriers...
replace alltel.com with the carrier name of choice.
email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org, etc.

just did it about 20 minutes ago and tested it out with my iPod.

You're completely wrong. That doesn't work for all carriers at all. It's different for each one.
