He means no, not unless you make an emulator for that specific phone engine.

Say if you wanted to put a game from a Nokia N95 onto the iphone, you would have to make an app that emulates the N95. But that is easier said than done, i dont even know if it is possible because the N95 operating system is not open source, which will make it infinity hard to emulate. By the time someone will make one starting from now, the games and phone your trying to emulate will be obsolete.

Or someone can make that same game for the iphone, but that probably wont be an option to as the code for the game is probably not open source, so someone would have to make their own version of the game, which might infringe on some copyright, it depends on how the game is made.

So short answer no not really.

i guess what he/she meant is you need to make an emulator program for the OS of the cel phone you want get the games from.

for example if you want to run n-gage games on an iPhone, you need to emulate the symbian OS running on nokia phones..

kinda like the snes4iphone app.. you need to emulate the snes engine to make it work on an iphone..

if you can make one, that would be a huge deal...

It's actually not that farfetched. Most mobile games are coded in J2ME. All someone would need to do is create a java virtual machine for the iphod.

oh ok.. maybe it is possible.. take the assassin's creed for example.. the iphone/ipod version is virtually the same as the n-gage game. if you can learn how gameloft does it, then you can port any cel phone game to the ipod.

gameloft created the game. They just wrote a separate version of each platform.
