    Hello,
    Well, this is a bit tricky to explain by words so I'll try anyway and will attach a screenshot bellow.
    On iOS4 with native backgrounds enabled the labels have sort of coloring that makes it very easy to read on bright backgrounds, the thing is when you install winterboard the labels turn to be white, and it makes it very hard to impossible to read the labels, so I wanted to know if there's a way to make the labels look like the original even though winterboard is installed.
    Winterboard is installed with my background:

    well you can simply turn off summerboard mode in winterboard options, however if the themes modifying springboard icons, it will not work.. or theres the theme WHITE ICON LABELS, tho i was picky with this one, it looks alittle too white..

    I'm sorry for bumping this old thread but this issue is still not resolved. Turning Summerboard off breaks some themes + it only makes the labels go gray instead of white with black borders like the original.
    Thanks

    If the plists work the same as on 3.x (been a while since i messed with this stuff) then i think you can do this to your fonts

    </string>
    <key>UnDockedIconLabelStyle</key>
    <string>font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 10px; color: white; text-shadow: 0px 1px 0px black; margin-top: -2px;</string>

    and just change the numbers to your liking you may have to meddle a bit to get it right.
