    What is your OS?
    Vista is:
    C:/Users/<username>/AppData/Roaming/Apple Computer/iTunes/iPod Software Updates

    XP should be transltated to:
    C:/Documents and Settings/<username>/Application Data/Apple Computer/iTunes/iPod Software Updates

You will encounter "hidden" directories, go Tools > Folder Option > 2nd tab, whatever its called (possibly "display", I have Japanese regionalized Vista, so I dn't know) and look for a checkbox to show all hidden and system files, then check again.

In theory, if you zip those files up, and throw them some where (IE: rapid share) then those people having network troubles cannot download it via iTunes can place in their equivelent directory, and thus restore their iPod w/o downloading it via Apple; but I could be wrong... my net sucks so I can't test it either.

Well i found the file. I'll load it onto [PIRACY.rs] or something so people that are having problems can test. Thanks Andy.

So I did a little test and it seems that if you did share that file and someone else puts it in the same file path they indeed will be able restore their ipod touchs.
