I would like to make an app of a book, essentially something simular to a pdf file with bookmarks for chapters, etc.

I started with the SDK kit but I am running on a windows machine. I then looked at Jiggy but didn't want to jail break the ipod. Is there an easy way to create a simple app.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are running windows, you have to jailbreak to use the apps you make.

Jiggy only works on 1.1.X, and you can't do any iPhone development on a PC, short of the iPhone Toolchain, on Cydia.

If you wan't to use the iPhone SDK, then you must turn you PC into a hackintosh, or buy a Mac.

Yes, actually. With or without the official iPhone SDK at your side, a book application would not be hard to make at all. There are ways available to effectively read PDF files, along with HTML, TXT, and other ways you may want to create the books in.
