I've already jailbroken my 1.1.3 iPod using one of the Dev's team way, but as you know, we have to leave our iPods downloading all the 160mb firmware from apple, and that's kind of lame when for some reason you want to re-jailbreak, etc. My internet is 1mbit, theorically it shouldn't take too long to download 160mb, but for some reason my Wi-fi connection makes my internet much slower even being right in front of the router (took me more than 3 hours to jailbreak).

Well, considering I have the firmware downloaded on my computer, isn't there a way to make it use my downloaded firmware instead of download it again each time I want to jailbreak?

[Edit - Heck just realized the title is wrong, I meant "faster" not "fater"

If youre using the official jailbreak you can put the .ipsw file of 1.1.3 in /root/var and rename it to restore.zip

    That was fast lol.
Ok so when I'm on 1.1.2 I have to put the .ipsw file on root/var/ and rename it to restore.zip, right? Then which "official" way do I use? There are many out there and there are 3 ways to install the Dev's team jb.

    Thanks so far

Yep do that and then use "Official 1.1.3 Upgrader" From installer.

    EDIT:I MADE A MISTAKE

You need to put it in /private/var NOT /root/var

uncompressing and decrypting the ipsw as per the DEVTEAM's instructions helps speed it up even more. read what i posted in the other thread:
