If the Dev Team can't fix the problem, and it takes a while....could they just can the whole thing? I can't see them doing that because they have gotten far on it, but what if there is no way to fully jailbreak the iPod Touch 2G?

I'm sure they would keep trying because of the chance that a new iPhone would get the same processor. But don't worry about it, if it doesn't come out by next Sunday then you might start worrying about it but it's too early to start.

If it really came down to it, and the dev-team just quit the project, they would probably just hand it over to another dev, probably chronic.

I gave up hope for the jailbreak to come out this week or even next week.

Just no signs of progress, unless they already know how to do it and are just tricking us to believe it isn't possible and then when we least suspect it BAM they release it. Yea, that isn't happening.

of course there is a chance. maybe the dev team will see that there are a few rotten eggs out there who don't appreciate their work and give up entirely. honestly, they're doing this for free and if you go on their blog, this guy named aodhan is writing "f*ck the dev team" in spamstyle. that must be so reassuring to look at. that must be what they want to see when they are providing hours upon hours of free work for us to enjoy.

why do u think there are no signs of progress? The dev team have NEVER posted a day-to-day update. There is nothing to say, its simply search until they find the exploit.

a weakness within the software which can be used to [in this case] run unsigned code.

google says: something that takes advantage of some vulnerability in order to allow hackers to gain access to a system
