Hi everyone, is the ipod touch the right player for me?

    I need ...:
    1. ... internet access via wlan at home
    2. ... the possibility to download podcasts directly to the ipod via wlan (i've seen that this is possible with the new firmware)
    3. ... the possibility to copy single mp3 or short video files to the ipod

    I don't need:
... everything you can do to synchronize music from the computer to the player (as you can see above i will need the player as a little internet computer and a podcast player)

    I have:
... Ubuntu 8.10 installed, no MacOS or Windows.
(I know, itunes doesn't run on linux, but perhaps it's possible to run a special linux programm like amarok, but that is not the first problem for me, as the points above will be possible.)

    Thank you very much!

ts from germany (where it has been snowed about 5 inches ...

An ipod touch is great and there are some tutorials to make it work with Ubuntu.
