Before I get flamed with "PLEASE READ", this forum has gotten a bit chaotic and searching is just getting too difficult. I've browsed through the pages and didn't see anything like this.

The only reason I was heldback from upgrading to 2.0 was because of the lack of customizability. I dont want to upgrade to 2.0 and find out how hard it is just to get a simple theme. Is the installer beta any good? Are there any reports of bricking/breaking?

I'm quite shifty with this upgrade

Well now you can install Customise AND Winterboard, winterboard being the better as it now allows you to use wallpaper themes as well as app store application icons etc. Look at the following thread for a idea of some of the themes, though if you get customize themes, its very easy to convert them.

    Awesomeness.
Are the themes fairly easy to download? Pretty much SSH or Download and apply like on 1.1.4?

To be honest, I dont even know if its worth it.

The basic applications that Apple gives you with the update are nice, the interface is different and Winterboard rocks!

But there are SO FEW (third party) applications that I was so ready to turn back to 1.4 firmware.

I guess we just have to wait, unless I go back to 1.4

Well, I'm not really concerned with the applications and games. My biggest thing is the customization since I'm a designer and I'd like to make my own unique theme.

the ability to get free apps from the appstore is pretty nice and you can do some nice customization like do a slideshow for springboard backround.

    so go for it man
