TextPlus, TextFree, just search Text on the app store. I've texted people who were using the texting apps, the free ones add a rather long signature ad at the bottom, the paid ones don't. It gives you like a 8 digit phone number that the other person will see when they receive the text, this number is exclusive to your ipod so they can save it to their address book. Also, if you want to use the email app, tell the person you want to text to text to your email address (enter your e-mail address into the phone number box), every mobile phone number has an e-mail address (i.e. (123) 456-7890 on Verizon = 1234567890@vtext.com). If you send an e-mail to that address, they will receive your message as a text. Does this help? Sorry its so long
