I have alot of music, app store apps, movies, and pictures which I only have on my iPod and really don't want to delete. So if i was to jailbreak it would i HAVE to restore first if i already have the proper firmware? Or is there an easy way to back everything up on my ipod that i may have deleted off my computer?

You could use sharepod to copy your iPod's content to your computer.

if you update via iTunes update and not download the .ipsw file, there will be no need to restore your ipod. It'll automatically update your ipod to that version without losing any song, video, photo. Your apps are backed up beforehand when you connect your ipod onto your computer. the only thing that is actually lost is your jailbroken apps. if you had an ROMs in there, those are not deleted.

    No. It'll be fine.

QuickPwn does not require a restore. Of course, this is assuming you have a 1G iPod, which by your signature, you do.

It keeps coming up with this:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates\iPod1,1_2.2.1_5H11_Restore.ipsw

Then a big check and i just keep seeing the word restore flashing in my head, if i click the arrow will it restore?

Ok, it just went into recovery mode. I'm kind of angry right now.

Well considering everyone said it wouldn't happen i kind of assumed.

But for some reason it turned it off then back on twice and it let me use my ipod again instead of going to the stupid itunes plus usb cable screen.

When it does into recovery mode in quickpwn does it not restore it?
