is recovery mode the same thing as dfu mode?

    i keep trying to put in dfu mode. itunes pops up and says ipod is in recovery mode... is that the same thing?

    Yes, so long as your screen is black and nothing else. Nothing even on it. iTunes always says Recovery mode.

    No they are different. There are plenty of videos on how to do dfu mode.

    yeah, itunes says recovery but as long as the screen is black it will be fine

    the white screen is only after you send the 2.1.1 iBSS.

    It will only give you a white screen when you unplug it and re-plug it in after 2 or 10 seconds.

    I didn't use the RS tool 1.0 so I'm not the best person to ask - all I know is that you need to unplug and re-plug in your iPod after a certain step.

    in DFU its black, but its white after you unplug and replug it in
