It sounds like something is wrong with your screen. I never saw white lines on mine.

Although I have seen somebody's iPod have black lines creep across the screen a little farther every day until almost the whole screen was black. I never heard of white lines though.

That's true, you should let it drain every once in a while, but I don't think charging would mess up your screen.

^^ Thats bull, you battery should last the same amount of time as long as you don't leave it dead for a long time, and I see nothing wrong with not letting die as long as you don't leave it on.

I agree. You shouldn't charge your iPod every night. It will kill your battery. Although it isn't a problem as long as your battery has been drained to about 20-30%. I have a friend that charged his Palm TX every night. The battery is pretty much toast by now.

the battery automatically stops charging when it's full so there is no reason to turn it off. This is to also prevent it from overcharging (obviously) which leads to a shorter battery life, but since it stops charing when full there's no harm in charging all night. The greatest factor in loss of life are extremes in heat and cold. So don't leave it in a hot or cold car whatever you do.

I didn't mean let it die, just let the battery get low before charging it again, and yes, it does help to do this.
