Is my video card good enough? It's a Intel Corporation 82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE Chipset Integrated Graphics Device (rev 03). As far as I can remember, I've never played games requiring enough to make my comp lag, but when I installed Ubuntu, I had to use Safe Graphical mode. When I updated from the LiveCD to 10.04, it didn't work cos it didn't have a Safe Graphics Mode. So i had to download the whole thing and do the Distribution Update thing. Now, I'm running Maverick Meerkat, and I can't get through this release even through the Distribution Upgrade. So, the main question is -

Intel Corporation 82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE Chipset Integrated Graphics Device (rev 03) - Is this graphics card good enough?

Please, please tell me if you can think of one which is better, and would work better with Ubuntu and sh*t. Nvidia or something?

That's a rip off. You can get one of those for like $35-40.

You can get stuff like 2-3X faster than that for $75.

    Very helpful, thanks people.

iPwn, it isn't a drivers' problem. The drivers are all up-to-date. Which other Graphics Card would you recommend?

Yeah, drivers are there, sure. I probably want to use the computer mainly for internet browsing, occasionally, YouTube, or DVDs.
