I've been a huge MIUI fan ever since I discovered it. From using the semifunctional unofficial ports on my Motorola Droid 1 to the recent Touchpad port, I just freaking love the ROM. However, there is one thing I noticed- it sucks with battery life. At least in my experience. ON my D1, I assumed it was due to the fact that it was a beta port to an older device. Then I got a Nexus one. It was much better, but I had to keep it in airplane mode to make it last all day [ I use it as an iPod, not for service, so I wasn't missing calls or anything]. Same thing with my HD2. Airplane mode, or the battery would die a percent a minute. [ I'm not exaggerating, I took it out of airplane mode to use the FM radio, 20 minutes later- DEAD.] With the HD2, I thought maybe I had a bad battery. After all, I bought it off Craigslist, and it's a 2 year old phone. I switched batteries [ the guy gave me 2], but no improvement. I then switched to CM7 and my battery life dramatically increased. I could use my phone out of airplane mode all day with varying brightness, streaming video, watching video via MX, music, etc etc. Like it should be. So... does anyone else have horrid MIUI battery life, or I was doing something wrong? [ sorry for the long post, I didn't want to leave anything out ]
Weird......MIUI uses (more of borrows without credit) Cyanogenmods code base, so battery life like that really shouldn't change.
When I rooted my Vibrant, NOTHING gave me good battery life. When I just had it stock, I'd keep the data connection off just to make it through the day; when I was on any ROM, airplane mode wouldn't even help. I know I must have been doing something wrong..
