Is it worth losing jailbreak for a while to get twice the memory on a 2G Touch?

?

Worth it to upgrade to a 2G?

  1. Yes. It's worth losing Jailbreak for a while to gain more memory/save some money.

  2. No. It's not worth it. Stick with the 1G.

I bought my 1G Touch just about two weeks ago.

It got jailbroken about 30 mins after I got it home, and I've had it jailbroken since.

Now, it's an 8GB, and I paid the full $300 for it. After mentioning this in another thread, apparently some stores will let me exchange it.

Now, with that same $300, I could get a 16GB 2G. I'd gain all the new features from the 2G, but lose the ability to jailbreak for a while. At least, for a few months until a new jailbreak method is released. I could also stick with an 8GB 2G and just pocket the extra $70.

Is it worth it? I'd have to do it ASAP.

    What do you guys think?

    Get the 2G 8GB.
If you've made it this far with 8Gb, then you probably don't need any more capacity.
Keep the rest of the money :]

As the hours tick by, I'm getting more and more unsure.

The method for jailbreaking requires a loophole with the 1G processors. The 2G uses a new processor that doesn't have that loophole.

A new method could be impossible, or more dangerous if it would come about.
