    no.

    find out yourself.
    jailbreaking takes 5 mins.
alot faster than us finding out what YOU need.

hey, hey, he joined for help, not for rude comments like that.

in my opinion it is worth every minute, you get to have great themes, different logos, customize things from the wifi bars to.. well... everything else.

Also many other tweaks to different apps to make like easier.

Cons: too many (including me) it causes us to restore every so months (months for me!)

jailbreaking gives you more control of your device.
Themes and such are just for looks and everyone might not want that.
I don't use themes on my 2g but I use toggles which makes the use of my touch more efficient.

in the world of jailbreaking, there is at least something that you will like.
So jailbreak and find out how it is.

    I stand for 'no'.

Themes are useless (I'm not going to spend ages starring at lock screen or icons).
Startup logo is something I see for one or two minutes a month.
I don't sync my iPod with Linux, so SSH is useless for me.
Apps from 3rd party repos generally are less stable than those ones from AppStore, potentially could cause a lot of troubles, and their ability to run in background often wastes battery for nothing.

Well, if you a dev who needs to bypass Apple entitlements (to access low-level features, like wi-fi) or just a geek, then jailbreak is for you. Ordinary user doesn't need it.

But the final decision is up to you

    2/ why should I?
3/ why do I need to view and modify files via wifi if I'm running supported OS and can do the same via the cable?
4/ they are made with the same SDK, but they could completely screw all restrictions Apple applied. Sometimes this means "freedom", but sometimes these restrictions are just keeping you from falling to abyss.

And I'm not scared, I've been using jailbroken iPod for some time. But latest firmwares (2.2.1 and above) have anything I need, so jailbreak became useless for me.

    I personally like jailbreaking.

But if you're just going to use themes or change your Boot Logo, then it's not worth making your iPod slower.

But I have a ton of toggles for different things, which makes it a helluva lot easier to enable and disable stuff.

All I use my jailbreak for is Themes and I don't notice a slowdown
